How to make ti better is to add a little color but not a LOT. The hearts have to be red, it's a given. Your choice to give the center heart a 3d look by giving it a gradient. (like this one http://renaissanceguy.files.wordpress.co
Move the words over enough so that the edge of the card cuts through the spacing between the words instead of into the letters. This makes the statement stand out more.
Under the word %26quot;Pretty%26quot; put a partial image of red lipstick that was kissed onto the paper. Or, put the lipstick mark on the lower left corner of the card. Do not make this red as strong as the heart though. Your choice, but I think the first option would look better for me.How to change this design from plain to eye catching?You need something going on in the background - red would be a perfect colour, it would make the black and white stand out. Something fairly plain but textured - a kind of %26quot;grunge%26quot; effect would be good. Keep the rest the same, but give the text a shadow, or a blur.

Where the line of the card intersects with the words, it sort of... well they don't stand apart from each other enough.
