How do you change artist on iTunes?

We have a macintosh hd 2008, and i recently go an ipod. I had some songs on a cd and put them on itunes and on to my ipod. however the songs came up with no album art and no artist and title of the song. i figured out how to put the name of the song, but how do i add the artist name?How do you change artist on iTunes?You can highlight the song name, then click once over the artist section and it will give you the chance to type the artists' name.
